What's JoyWrist™ X18.?

JoyWristX18 helps thousands of families now to improve the lives of their children by providing a solution to keep kids safe and give parents piece of mind. It is a simplified smart watch designed for children and vulnerable adults that provides parents and carers with a way to communicate, locate and monitor their loved ones, no matter how far apart. Does JoyWrist™ X18 need a SIM card tofunction.?

Yes. While the watch will connect to WiFi, a SIM card is required for device registration and most functions and allow it to work when out and about.JoyWristX18is a fully
unlocked, Android based cellular device. For American and North American customers,JoyWristX18provides the option to use AT&T & T-Mobile. United Kingdom and International customers can use just about any SIM/GSM worldwide 4G network. With a SIM card, the watch will have its own number and data service connecting right to yourJoyWristX18app regardless of location. You'll be able to see your child's location, give them a call, send them a message, and always give them a way to get in touch with you too.

Are there any monthly fees forthe JoyWrist™ X18.?

There are no monthly fees to subscribe to the JoyWristX18 app, but there will be fees paid to the network provider for you to maintain cellular service for the internet.

Cellular service gives the watch its own phone number for calls and data allowing you to be able to communicate and locate the watch using the free JoyWristX18 app.

If you're outside of the US, feel free to choose any local SIM/GSM carrier. JoyWristX18is a fully unlocked, Android based cellular device.

How is the GPS/WiFi/LBS location accuracy for JoyWrist™ X18.?

With a 4G cellular connection and multi-source positioning, JoyWristX18position capabilities are great even down to only a few yards when the watch is outdoors and able to connect to the GPS satellites for positioning.

Here are the different ways thewatch finds its location. Each has varying degrees of accuracy depending onyour conditions.

GPS: the most accurate and requires a view of the sky providing location over 4G data as accurate as 5-10m.

WiFi: is the moderately accurate as it finds the location using the watch's internet IP address with location accuracy between 50m-100m

LBS: The Local Base Station is the least accurate as it uses only the estimated proximity to the nearest cell tower with an accuracy between 50-1000m. It can be useful to find your child's location when no other location sources are available as they are in a building or underground parking for example.

Can you make or receive calls from this watch.?

Yes, the watch works just like a cell phone, a child-friendly one that is restricted and controlled by you. With a single tap, your child or other loved one can call or answer calls and talk naturally through the watch's own built-in speaker and microphone. As a parent or guardian, your app will also allow you to restrict functions such as block unknown incoming calls with Block Unknown Calls activated on the app, which will only allow calls from the numbers saved on the watch (a minimum of one number must be saved).

JoyWrist™ X18 Watch can also make and receive video calls to approved Family Members using the watch's WiFi and 4G. A Do-Not-Disturb schedule on the watch can also be set to prevent any interaction with the watch to avoid distraction and disturbance. Only SOS calls will continue to work.

Can you send Text Messages.?

It is possible to send text, voice, picture and emoji messages through the watch to parents’ phone and the app. You can also activate the messaging app on the watch called WhatsApp, allows for any contact using their WhatsApp app to send text, voice & picture messages. It can also be shared with Family Members and use as group messaging. WhatsApp can be installed from your watch's app store and downloaded for free onto just about any device.

How do SOS contacts work.?

The JoyWrist™ X18 watch can hold up to three SOS contacts that can be dialled automatically by your child by long pressing the dedicated SOS button on the side of the watch. The watch will call the first number first. If there is no answer after five rings, it will dial the second number, then the third.

How often does the watch pickup the wearer’s location using GPS?

Using the app, you can set the watch to acquire the user’s location every 10 minutes, 1 hour or fetch the location manually from the app on-demand. Frequent updating uses more battery life, so it's best to use the appropriate setting for the scenario. e.g. set manual while at home, update to every 10 minutes when out in the park.

How waterproof is JoyWrist™ X18.?

JoyWrist™ X18 is rated IP65 which means it's protected from total dust ingress and also protected from low-pressure water splashes from any direction. It’s not water-proof and is not recommended to get it wet.

Can I travel with the JoyWrist™ X18 watch.?

Yes, absolutely, but as the watch is effectively a
smartphone, you will need to take care of roaming charges unless they are
included by the plan you are on. If this is not the case with your provider,
you can purchase a local SIM card at your destination.  As long as the
local SIM plan includes sufficient minutes and data, it ought to work. 
Your app account and watch region must always be the same, even if you travel.

Can kids transfer the photos and videos to parents.?

The JoyWrist™ X18 will allow for photos to be sent through the Family Chat, or the WhatsApp app. Videos can also be taken on watch and stored locally on a Windows computer only.

How long does the JoyWrist™ X18 battery last.?

Between 1-3 days but the battery life varies by use, configuration, cellular network, signal strength, and many other factors. To further extend the battery, change your Location Update Schedule on your Watch app to Sleep Mode: Manually Obtain Position/Power Saving: On Demand. This means you'll still be able to check the watch's current location on demand by tapping on the map, but the watch will not automatically send its location.

For geofencing and to view historic tracking, change the Location Update Schedule to update the watch's location more frequently so it may regularly refresh its location. Use as the situation requires as the more frequently it checks, the more battery power it will consume. Having WIFI and Bluetooth on always will also consume battery life

These can be deactivated under the Settings on the Watch. The video call will consume more battery and it may cause the watch to warm up. We recommend keeping video calls to less than 3 minutes at a time to preserve as much battery life.

How do I change the watch face?

To change to different watch screen options, press and hold on the clock face and swipe to choose the face you would like, and tap to select. You can also double click the rotary button and then rotate the rotary to select the faces.

What are your customer service timings.?

We aim to answer every query within 1-2 hours or earlier during our opening times. Our opening timings are as under (GMT Time): -

How can I track my order?

How long does Shipping generally take?

For the United Kingdom estimated delivery time is 4-5 working days. For majority of international destinations, the delivery time is between 5-10 working days. All shipping estimations are carrier estimations and cannot be guaranteed. This means that shipping times do not begin from when you placed your order, but rather from the time that the carrier received your package. You will know that this has been done when you receive your tracking confirmation email. All orders are processed within 1-2 working days.

My package was marked as 'Delivered' but I never received it!

First off, our shipping accuracy is consistently over 98% offering you a near certainty that all will be well with your shipment estimation. For your convenience and peace of mind, we offer full insurance on all shipments. This is provided to you at our expense and at no additional charge to you. It covers against excessive delays, lost or stolen shipments as well as damaged or missing items. Please allow 14 business days from the date of shipment before filing a claim. If you need to file a claim, please email support@joywrist.com.

How do I return or exchange my JoyWrist™ X18 Watch?

You'll have 28 days from the date of delivery to try out your JoyWrist™ X18 and see if you'll like it! Within those 14 days, you are more than welcome to return it for a 100% product refund on complete returns after speaking with customer service. Incomplete or customer-damaged are excluded from this offer.

We define a complete return as exactly what you received in the first place, without any physical damage, minus the shrink wrap of course. (All return requests without contact for assistance to our customer service team will be rejected, pictures/videos must be included to confirm it's defective)

For warranty-related exchanges, your device is protected by our 1-year manufacturer's warranty ensuring you have an JoyWristX18 that works like it's supposed to!  Please note that warranty claims cannot be made for physical, cosmetic, or water-related damage.

How long until I get my money back or my exchange unit?

For refunds: we process refunds (less any applicable restocking fee) to your original payment method usually within seven days of your return’s delivery to us.  If you have not received your refund by then, please feel free to contact us at support@joywrist.com.

For exchanges: We understand the need for your replacement to arrive quickly. Please track your return shipment and let us know as soon as you see it marked as delivered to us and we'll fast track your return inspection and have your replacement ordered and dispatched right away.
